A Urinary Proteomic Classifier for Early Detection of Alport Syndrome in Children

We are pleased to announce a new publication in Kidney International Reports demonstrating the potential of urinary peptidomics for the non-invasive diagnosis of Alport syndrome in children.

In this international collaborative study, researchers developed and validated a disease-specific classifier based on CE-MS (Capillary Electrophoresis coupled to Mass Spectrometry) and machine learning.

The classifier achieved outstanding diagnostic performance:

  • AUC: 0.999
  • Sensitivity: 100%
  • Specificity: 97.4%

These results highlight the potential of urinary proteomics to identify Alport syndrome at an early stage, including in children with inconclusive genetic findings.

For mosaiques diagnostics, this study represents another important step towards developing disease-specific diagnostic solutions for pediatric nephrology.

Our vision: Bringing the power of molecular diagnostics to earlier disease detection and personalized kidney care – from childhood onwards.
